Copper sheets coils and gutter accessories

Copper

Copper is our #1 most used metal for roofing applications. It offers many advantages over other metals such as: great looks (both new and with age), it is easy to work with, soft, it can also be soldered, offering more security against leaks and if used correctly, in many applications, it can last a lifetime.

Used for gutters, hangers, metal roofing panels, downspouts, chimney caps, cupolas, louvers, finials, edge metal, flashing, step flashing, leader heads, gutter accessories, conductor boxes, shower pans and skylights.

Available in 3' x 8', 3' x 10', 4' x 8' and 4' x 10' sheets. Also available in coil, normally 10", 11.75", 12", 15", 18", 20", 24", 36" and 48". 16, 20, 24 and 48 oz.

Item Code: CPPR

Other finishes applied to this metal - available for fabricated items only:

Copper with brushed finish

Brushed Finish Copper

Brushed finish is a type of finish applied on copper usually after fabrication of counter tops, hood vents and back splashes. The idea behind this, is to allow for a nice blend, where welds are not as visible, giving the part fabricated the appearance of a solid piece. This is the same finish you can find on stainless steel appliances, known as #4 finish. In counter tops, a brushed finish is a nice alternative to a raw finish, since the raw material comes with no protective film and with some scratches from the factory. It also gets a little scratched during production. A brushed finish may also help accelerate the patina process of the metal. As beautiful as this finish looks, any scratches from usage that are in a different direction than the grain, will be very noticeable at first, since a brushed finish is a directional finish. This usually tends to blend in after a while, and is usually not as much as an issue for parts that are left untouched, such as hood vents, planters, unlike counter tops for example.

Copper with satin finish

Satin Finish Copper

Satin finish is a type of finish applied on copper usually after fabrication of counter tops, planters etc. The idea behind this, is to allow for a nice blend, where welds are not as visible, giving the part fabricated the appearance of a solid piece. In counter tops, a satin finish is a nice alternative to a raw finish, because a raw material comes with no protective film, meaning it has some scratches from the factory and it also gets scratched during production. A satin finish also helps accelerate the patina process of the metal. In any case, a counter top, for example, will get scratched with usage, which will look normal after a while, but it will be very noticeable at first. A satin finish makes it so these new scratches are not nearly as visible.

Copper with dark patina finish

Dark Patina Copper

Dark patina is a type of finish applied on copper usually after fabrication of counter tops, planters, hood vents etc. The idea is to mimic the aging process of copper, between it's raw stage and when it turns green. For this finish to be applied, a part first needs to have a satin finish / brushed finish first. We then apply our proprietary solution making the part as dark as possible.
The patina can be lighter or darker, depending on what's chosen. After applying the solution, we can begin to take some of the patina away to make it lighter, if that is what the customer prefers, showing then, more of the actual material. It is important to note that this is not a paint, it changes the copper itself. Most customers want the ever changing look of copper, in which case you should just leave the patina as is, but if you wish to have it looking the same as when it leaves our facility, for a counter top for example, the best idea is to have this clear coated, which is a service we do not offer. On items such as planters and hood vents, that are usually left untouched, this is not usually an issue.

Copper with green patina finish

Green Patina Copper

Green patina is a type of finish applied on copper usually after fabrication of chimney caps and planters. This somewhat mimics aged copper, or pre-patina copper on a budget. It is important to note that this only somewhat resembles aged copper material, it will not look like pre patina copper or actual aged copper. This is done via applying our proprietary solution. The patina can be light or dark, depending on what's chosen. It is important to note that this is not a paint, it changes the copper itself. Most customers want the ever changing look of copper, in which case you should just leave the patina as is, but if you wish to have it looking the same as when it leaves our facility, the best idea is to have this clear coated.

Copper with burnished finish

Burnished Finish Copper

Burnished finish is a type of finish applied on copper usually after fabrication of planters and other items. Heat is applied to copper is order to generate the random discoloration of the metal. This means this is not a step that will produce the exact same results every time. It always looks different, but always great. Because of the amount of heat needed to burnish copper, the metal will distort. The thicker the gauge, the less distorted it could be, depending on its size and also on the profile of the piece to be burnished.
It is important to note that burnished items that need soldered seams, can only be soldered after the metal has been burnished, otherwise the solder will melt. This is important to mention because the appearance near the soldered joints may be different once those are soldered.

Cleaning Copper and bringing it back to its original look

Wright's Copper Cream

Wright's Copper Cream

Used for: Cleaning Copper

Wright's Copper Cream: Sometimes a stain may be bothering you or you don't like the way a patina has developed on your copper product. While cleaning copper is not necessarily an easy task, you can "reset" the bare look of copper.
There are several ways to do so, but of of the easiest, and our choice in the shop is to use Wright's Copper Cream. This is extremely useful for a newly developed patina, like a copper that's becoming dark, bronzed, or that shows finger prints. This product will not work on patina developed for years, where the material has physically changed, for that you may need something abrasive, like sanding the metal down. If it's green from something acidic, something spilled on it, it'll work, but if the copper is green from years of exposure, the material will need to be sanded down. That's something completely different.
Using this cream is a bit messy, it requires water and is mostly advised to do so in a controlled environment or outdoors.
Tip: Wet the part to be cleaned in warm / hot water, dip the sponge that comes with the product also in hot water then scoop some of the product with it. Scrub the part to be cleaned. Do a little bit at a time, don't leave the product on for more than a minute as it will also stain the copper. Rinse and dry with a cloth. The material will look a little more pinkish at first.
If your item has a grain finsh, make sure to follow the same direction when applying this product, specially if using something abrasive.
